Ali told her kindergarten teacher that she was going to be a fashion designer when she grew up, and she has been very single mindedly set on that path ever since. It isn't just a career choice for Ali - it is absolutely her passion.
Ali calls herself the Designer + Owner, in that order, as designing is her calling and her happy place.
Ali joined the company 18 years ago, when they were a few years in, as the designer, when she moved from England to Sydney.
It was inevitable that she was going to take over the company when the founding owner wanted to retire. This was the logical next step for Ali, who had been running it for three years prior to purchasing the brand name in 2019.
Ali added the ‘Australia’ part, as she knows that for us, and consumers, our heritage plays a big part in the support and ongoing success of the label. She wanted that recognised, and it is an integral part of Philosophy Australia.
