The Garments within the denu & Philosophy Australia Collection

The Garments within the Collection

The Philosophy Australia x denu collection is a celebration of thoughtful design, beautiful craftsmanship and the joy that comes from creating something truly special.

Produced in Rosie Hawkswell’s exclusive original Australian botanical artwork and crafted in luxurious 100% silk satin, the collection comprises five timeless garments. Strong in their own right, yet even more impactful when worn together, each piece has been designed to become a cherished part of a woman’s wardrobe for years to come.

The collection begins with the Cecilia Shirt, named after my daughter. A classic button through shirt with full length sleeves, it is one of those enduring wardrobe pieces that never dates. Equally at home worn casually with denim or paired with the matching silk separates, it embodies effortless versatility.

The Anja Top, named after Sarah’s daughter, features a softly draped cowl neckline that brings understated elegance to the collection. Feminine, flattering and easy to style, it transitions seamlessly from day to evening.

The Louise Bias Skirt, named with Sarah’s middle name, celebrates one of fashion’s most timeless silhouettes. Cut on the bias to skim rather than cling, it moves beautifully with the body and offers year-round wearability.

The Claire Pant takes its name from Claire at the Sofitel Melbourne, who generously supported our campaign photography. Featuring a full wide leg silhouette and practical pockets, it combines comfort and sophistication in a way Philosophy customers have come to love.

Bringing our two worlds together most beautifully is the Claudia Kimono. Designed as a versatile one size piece, it can be worn wrapped around you during a quiet moment of reflection with your favourite Denu fragrance, layered over eveningwear for a special occasion, or simply styled with a camisole and jeans. Its flexibility truly embodies our philosophy of easy wear, easy care, wear anywhere dressing.

Mix, match and create complete looks, as each piece is designed to be worn in compliment to each other. Anya with Claudia or Louise, Cecilia with Claire. You choose.

To complement the garments, we have also created a collection of accessories designed to extend the experience. The Elizabeth Scarf, named with my middle name, is a generous silk scarf that can be worn in countless ways. The luxurious silk Eye Mask transforms everyday rest into a ritual, particularly when paired with denu’s beautiful fragrance collection. Completing the offering is a silk Scrunchie and Twilly Set, designed to add a playful finishing touch while ensuring every precious piece of fabric is thoughtfully utilised.

Sustainability and ethical manufacturing have always been at the heart of Philosophy Australia, so it was important that this collection reflected those values from the very beginning. When designing the collection, I looked beyond the garments themselves and considered how we could honour every metre of the beautiful silk fabric. By thoughtfully planning our production, we were able to maximise the use of every possible piece of cloth, transforming what may otherwise have become waste into a collection of luxurious accessories. The result is a range of pieces each featuring its own unique print placement. No two are exactly alike, making every piece a little one of a kind and ensuring that every centimetre of this beautiful artwork finds a purpose.

Every garment and accessory is proudly produced in Sydney using our couture make method, where one skilled machinist creates each piece from start to finish. It is a slower, more considered approach to manufacturing, but one that allows us to maintain exceptional quality while supporting local craftsmanship and local jobs.

For us, sustainability is not a marketing statement. It is simply the way we choose to work.

Creating beautiful products, minimising waste, supporting Australian makers and producing with care is, and always will be, the Philosophy Australia way.
